What is CAIPS?

CAIPS is the abbreviation of Computer Aid Immigration Processing System. It is one of numerous computer processing systems used by Citizenship and Immigration of Canada to standarize the processing of immigration applications.

What is CAIPS file?

The printout of CAIPS is CAIPS file, or CAIPS note. A typical CAIPS file is seven -pages in length.

What information does CAIPS file contain?

In short, CAIPS file contains much information. For example,

  • A list of document required by CIC
  • If CIC has received documents you submitted
  • Decisions made on your application
