About CAIPS

CAIPS stands for Computer Aid Immigration Processing System. It is used by Citizenship and Immigration of Canada (CIC) to standarize, store and expedite immigration process.

The printout of CAIPS is CAIPS file, which is what we request for you from CIC. CAIPS file is very useful and it contains lots of useful information.

If you ever try CIC's e-client service, you will not be surprised to find it only provide little information regarding your Canadian immigration application. In most cases, you can only see simple message like "We have received your application", "We have started to process your application" or something like that.

However, there is much more information behind the web interface. Some of applicants' common concerns are:

• Which document does CIC ask me to submit?
• Has CIC received my documents already?
